Hammam
The hammam is originally an oriental bathhouse, where people come together for religious cleansing, body care and relaxation.
In authentic haman, men and women bathe separately.
Not only during a holiday you can enjoy a beneficial hammam experience.
Benefits of hammam
The main effect of the hammam is vasodilation, which means that it causes a dilation of the blood vessels and a relaxation of the muscles. This in turn provides relief from muscle tension and pain.
The alternation of steam baths and cold showers also promotes blood circulation.
Since a hammam session leads to a lowering of blood pressure, it is of course not recommended for people who suffer from low blood pressure. Avoid a hammam visit even if you skin problems have (eczema, dermatitis…) and during the digestive phase (just after a meal).
